When I go to a random web site, I get a "Microsoft Frontpage 2000 SR-1"
loading message and then it ask for a cd to be inserted. Why would a web site need this? What does Front Page have to do with me browsing the web? |

SR-1 is student resource software. Or something like that.
What you ever tried to install it? Sounds like there is a program running in the background on your pc that is asking for the disk. Not the website. At least I have never heard of anything like that happening. Hit Control + Alt + Delete and see what programs are running. You may have a partial install trying to finish or something of that nature. Also, you may check your "msconfig" program under the "startup" tab to see if you have a program from frontpage that starts when you restart your pc. Go to Start, Run and type in : msconfig and hit enter to bring this up. Hope this helps.... -- RickXP "Rik" wrote: > When I go to a random web site, I get a "Microsoft Frontpage 2000 SR-1" > loading message and then it ask for a cd to be inserted. > > Why would a web site need this? > > What does Front Page have to do with me browsing the web? |

I have Front Page 2000 as a program on my computer and it is functioning. I
just used it the other day. For some reason, some web sites I visit trigger the "Microsoft Frontpage 2000 SR-1" thing. I did a msconfig and do not have a "Front Page" in the start up tab... I will try the ctr/alt/del when a web site ask for this again. Thanks "RickXP" wrote: > SR-1 is student resource software. Or something like that. > What you ever tried to install it? SR/1 = Service Release 1
But sounds like your problem is over my head. It may be the website is recognizing your software for some reason. Sorry, I don't know. Maybe someone else does. Good luck.. -- RickXP "Rik" wrote: > I have Front Page 2000 as a program on my computer and it is functioning. You've got FP installed, or Office Pro (or higher), and you've hit a web page that has something triggering FP to open. It happens on my system here too, I've never found the reason for it. If it happens again in the next few days I'll check the page source of the site I hit and see what might be doing it (probably a meta tags defining how it can be edited, a language setting, or a faulty script causing the FP script debugger to kick in).
