For a while now I have had yahoo.com as my home page. A few days ago it
changed. When I start IE6 it loads http://www.yoursystemupdate.com. Regardless of what address I type in the properties window nothing seems to change. Can anyone help? Thanks |

Hi,
You have malware installed. For starters, download, update and run Ad-aware, Spybot and (if running WinXP) MS Anti-Spyware (Beta.) See these sites for help: Dealing with Unwanted Spyware and Parasites: http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm The Parasite Fight http://www.aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm Malware Removal and Prevention Overview - CastleCopsWiki: http://wiki.castlecops.com/Malware_R...tion:_Overview Bugs, Glitches & Stuffups: http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/Darnit.html Removing Malware: http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/...moving_Malware What you can do about spyware and other unwanted software: http://www.microsoft.com/athome/secu...ywarewhat.mspx These programs can't remove everything, especially very recent releases. You may have to register and post a HijackThis log to one of these forums for additional help. Look for the proper forum and an "Important- Read This First" message so that you follow proper procedure. * HijackThis Quick Start http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/#Top * HijackThis Tutorial and Download http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/foru...howtutorial=42 http://forum.aumha.org/viewforum.php?f=30 http://castlecops.com/forums.html http://tomcoyote.com/forums/ http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/ http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ http://www.spywarewarrior.com/index.php http://forums.maddoktor2.com/index.php http://forums.net-integration.net/ Don [MS MVP- IE] "carlos619" <carlos619[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:0C7E26CC-A6D8-49E8-8A82-800CCE0F6C73@microsoft.com... > For a while now I have had yahoo.com as my home page. I just picked this one up too. If you type a url in a file folder
window, then you can get to other sites. I haven't figured out how to remove it even though I ran adaware, the newest version of microsoft antispyware, and I'm going to run spybot search and destroy. |
