Default Ative X and Scripting Problems Fixed????

I apologize if this has already been answered. I don't understand most of
the security bulletins, so I download updates and hope for the best.

My question is: There were several problems with Active X Plug ins and
Controls and Active Scripting. The workarounds for these including setting
the browser to "Promt".

Have these issues been fixed? I would like to have a functional machine
again.

Thank you for any insigth you can provide.

Kevin

If you must post identical messages in more than one newsgroup please
crosspost, i.e. please place all of the newsgroups in the Newsgroup field of
one message, separated by commas. That way when someone reads the message
in one newsgroup it will be marked as read in all of them. In addition, an
answer posted in one newsgroup will generally show up in all of them.

This is usually not necessary since most of those who answer posts read
more than one newsgroup.

I am sorry. I have never posted here before. I will read your instructions
on cross posting. Do you have an answer to my question?

Not really. I apply all updates and have never had any such problems. It's
my opinion that people who do have problems are people who have contracted
spyware and not cleaned it.
