I recently had an issue with my home page failing to load when viewed with IE
6.0. I received the following message: 'file:\\//abcedfghabcdefgh.....Make sure the path or internet address is correct. the page would not load and the activity indicated that something was being counted. The page would load flawlessly using Firefox or Opera. In the status bar using IE 6.0 there was a red circle with a line through indicating there was a question on the security of the site. The URL for the site in question is http://stats4all.cc. This apparently is a counter site. I removed the line from the page programming and the site again works using IE. can anyone shed any light on what may be happening? Why would this included line affect only IE and not the other browsers. Is there another hole in the IE program that needs to be addressed? I am assuming my page was hacked at some point in that this include line in the page was not written into it. Any help or comments will be appreciated. |

Hi Tom,
Problem fixed. You removed the offending line from your home page. IE was doing the right thing. Your Home Page which I assume is on a local disk (My Computer security Zone) was trying to address a URL in the Internet Zone.
