I'm having a similar problem with IE6 that only began a week or so ago. Each
time a web page loads there is a whurring sounds that I would describe as either a zipper or a zzzzzzzzzzzz sound. I went to IE options and turned off the sound option when a popup is blocked. I went to the control panel-sounds page and reviewed every sound there; none were even remotely similar to the sound I am experiencing. I ran Norton AV to make sure there were no viruses running. Finally, I ran Webroot Spywatcher. All to no avail. The sound keeps occuring. Any thoughts?
