Default KB905915 issue w/o IE 7?

I have never installed IE7, yet since KB905915 has been installed, one of my
machines sometimes pops up tons of blank IE windows. (I've scanned for
spyware/virii - and it only started around the time the patch was installed).

Ideas? Thanks

Windows version?

The problem might not be due to 905915 but rather leftover problems after
Malicious Software Removal Tool (MSRT) cleaning infections from your
machine.

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.net/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post

Is there a way to see if the MSRT actually cleaned anything?

I update/scan using MS' Antispyware and Spybot Search and Destroy regularly.

Thanks.

Sometimes (very often, in fact) that's not enough. See "When all else
fails" below.
