I had this problem - slow to open IE window but subsequently loads
pages fast. In my case it happened after installing J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6. After uninstalling this I am back to the usual response. ALso Update 6.0 caused some conflict with Webroot's SpySweeper (SS). I couldn't uninstall or install the update with SS running, it would lock up SS and to reboot required power off. I don't think it is a conflict between the programs when they are running, because I tried running without SS and with Update 6.0 and I had the same slow response. |

Thanks for this hint...I've been seeing extremly long load times and
could not figure out what had caused it. I'm going to rip out ver 6 and see if that is the problem. |

I'm encountering the same exact problems, very frustrating.......So what was
your solution? Has it been successful? What Java program should I delete and how can I recover the Java program I originally had before updating?
