Default Java & Norton

Getting error with JAVA- Java (TM) Plug-in Fatal Error. The JAVA runtime
environment cannot be loaded from c:\ etc.

I think this started after install Norton Internet Security 2006 (but that
may be coincidental).

Any ideas or suggestions would be great!
Java is enabled in IE6.
Error persists even when Norton ISS is turned off.

Windows version? And what is exactly the error message?
See if this helps: http://www.java.com/en/download/help/5000041000.xml
Or try uninstalling and reinstalling SUN JVM:
http://www.java.com/en/download/help/5000010800.xml
"Windows Java Runtime Environment uninstallation instructions ".
http://www.java.com/en/download/help/5000010100.xml
"How do I install the Java Runtime Environment (JRE)?".
