how can I stop IE from starting up automatically

I am running Adaware and Spybot.....so I don't think I have spyware in my pc.
I think mine started around the time I installed my dsl software.

Uninstall the software. Except for the slight possibility of ISP-supplied
modem-related software, you don't need any of it to use a DSL ISP.

Pardon my asking, but which software shoud I uninstall? The Adaware and
Spybot? I really am confused as to which one you suggested I uninstall.
