Hello, everytime I turn my computer on and it boots up, it takes forever
because IE opens up and connects automatically. How can I shut that feature off? I have AOL and I don't need IE to open up automatically. I am also connecting using DSL. Help, I have tried searching in the tools but not sure where to look. Can I turn it off? |

Can I turn it off? Remove IE from your StartUp folder.(Right click Start and choose open. Then double click Programs and then Startup. I have XP. Does that make a difference? Is it supposed to automatically open
up and connect when the PC is turned on? I did that and when I click on Startup that folder is empty. Nothing there. I
have also clicked on start, run and typed msconfig for the startup in system configuration and looked for it in there and I did not see it in there too. Thanks. ~Donna "Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE" wrote: > "~Donna" <~Donna@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:010E6F24-8398-46D8-A776-20E1232F04DE@microsoft.com > > Hello, everytime I turn my computer on and it boots up, it takes > > forever because IE opens up and connects automatically. I've been having this same problem for over a year and have tried everything,
including checking my Startup folder. This problem (suspiciously) started happening around the same time I started using Firefox almost exclusively. Any other ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. "PA Bear" wrote: > And IE still loads at boot? > > ~Donna wrote: > > I did that and when I click on Startup that folder is empty.
