I started getting this message a month ago. I purchased spyware doctor today
and scanned. This has improved the number of times I get this message but has not eliminated it. Details APPname Iexplore.exe, Appver 6.02900.2180, modname unknown, offset is different each time. -- trr |

Hi,
You need use additional malware removal tools. No program/tool detects and removes everything. Download, update and run Ad-aware, Spybot and (if running WinXP) MS Anti-Spyware (Beta.) See these sites for help: Dealing with Unwanted Spyware and Parasites: http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm The Parasite Fight http://www.aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm Malware Removal and Prevention Overview - CastleCopsWiki: http://wiki.castlecops.com/Malware_R...tion:_Overview Bugs, Glitches & Stuffups: http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/Darnit.html Removing Malware: http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/...moving_Malware What you can do about spyware and other unwanted software: http://www.microsoft.com/athome/secu...ywarewhat.mspx Some malware must be removed manually. You may have to register and post a HijackThis log to one of these forums for additional help. Look for the proper forum and an "Important- Read This First" message so that you follow proper procedure. * HijackThis Quick Start http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/#Top * HijackThis Tutorial and Download http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/foru...howtutorial=42 http://forum.aumha.org/viewforum.php?f=30 http://castlecops.com/forums.html http://tomcoyote.com/forums/ http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/ http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ http://www.spywarewarrior.com/index.php http://forums.maddoktor2.com/index.php http://forums.net-integration.net/ http://www.atribune.org/forums/index.php?showforum=21 Or... A legitimate program running in the background may be causing this. Disable (for diagnostic purposes) programs such as pop-up blockers, security, toolbars and other add-ons for IE, anti-virus, etc. Take a look at any program that might be interfering with IE. You may have to reinstall, or not reinstall, a program. Before disabling a third-party firewall, turn on the Windows Firewall (from Control Panel or Security Center.) I've been getting these messages and crashes with annoying frequency. I've
downloaded every relevant update that I can find, to no avail. No spyware or other malware problems. I'm running Win 98 SE; can't find an 'Event Viewer'. I'm planning to get a new computer in the next 6 months, but what can I do in the meantime? Pls advise. "trrwtzl" wrote: > I started getting this message a month ago. Download a copy of Firefox - the problem is IE specific. I'm a
developer, in my case this problem was caused purely by invalid HTML Markup - nothing to do with any external thing at all. Even then using Firefox avoided it. Jim |

Thx, Jim -- worth the try. The problems increased after I updated Norton
Systemworks -- don't know if there's any relation. MariPosa "jmlawton@gmail.com" wrote: > Download a copy of Firefox - the problem is IE specific. Thanks, Frank . I check weekly using Norton, but it's possible there could be
something it has missed. I should have spybot and ad-aware anyway. m "Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE" wrote: > "MariPosa" <MariPosa@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:FFA0743A-8AD8-4BFC-B0BC-55611AFF7F68@microsoft.com > > I've been getting these messages and crashes with annoying frequency. > > I've downloaded every relevant update that I can find, to no avail. > > No spyware or other malware problems.
