Hi:
I'm having a problem I haven't seen described yet. If I try to start IE6 from the start menu or from programs or from c: \program files\internet explorer, nothing happens. Hourglass for a couple of seconds, then nothing more. If I open the control panel, choose automatic updates and them click on Windows Update web Site, IE opens fine and works fine. I'm running XP SP2. I've tried scf /scannow with no help. I considered uninstalling and reinstalling SP2, but I get a warning that a long list of programs won't work if I uninstall and I don't know if they will work after reinstall. Do anyone know what to do? Thanks. Ed |

Check for Hijackware:

It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post your log to http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=22, http://castlecops.com/forum67.html, http://forums.subratam.org/index.php?showforum=7, http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30, or other appropriate forums for expert analysis, not here.** -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE/OE, Shell/User, Security), Aumha.org VSOP, DTS-L.org Ed Katzman wrote: > Hi: > > I'm having a problem I haven't seen described yet. > > If I try to start IE6 from the start menu or from programs or from c: > \program files\internet explorer, nothing happens.
