I am running Windows 20000 SP4 with IE 6 SP1. My computer is showing all the
signs of a corrupted TIF file. The classis solution is to log on as an administrator and delete the TIF directory. The problem is that I *can't*. Anytime I access the directory, the program used hangs up and the disk thrashes until I kill the process. I have tried IE tools, options, delete files; CCleaner; deleting from Windows Explorer, deleting from the Command line. No luck. I have tried running a complete CHKDSK, but it made no difference. Any suggestions? |

Even with Admin, you can only delete the directories below Content.IE5 Get the free "IE Privacy Keeper" from www.BrowserTools.net which deletes these files and fills the "index.dat" files with zeroes, effectively removing their content. I'm running the same system software as you, except it's "2000", not "20000" <g> |

I ran IE Privacy ACE and it worked wonderfully! Several GIGAbytes of trash disappeared and the TIF looks just fine now. Many, many thanks. Any suggestions on how to keep this from happening again? I used to run the IE "delete TIF files" tool regularly and just assumed that it was actually doing something. |
