I use a 56k dialup modem to connect to the Internet on my Gateway Media
Center 2005 PC. I also use Outlook 2003 for email. In Internet Explorer connection properties my dial up connection is setup to "dial only if network connection is not present". I have a built in LAN port, but it is not connected to anything at this time. I use a local ISP so I setup my Internet connection manually. When I click on Internet Explorer to connect to the Internet, a box comes up that has save password checked and dial automatically unchecked. I then click dial and it completes the connection. I would like it to dial automatically, but on old computer I seemed to have trouble with my internet connection staying connected as soon as I selected the automatically dial option. Someone told me that it was because Internet Explorer was using its dialer after I selected the auto dial option. If I chose the auto dial option will it screw up my connection which is working very well at this time? I don't understand why this would make a difference? |

Your network connection is not enabled since you have nothing connected via the LAN port anyway. |

Thanks for the info! I wasn't sure because Outlook is setup to connect thru
