I am having a lot of intermittent problems surfing the web. IE is hanging
up!!. When I double click on the IE Icon it may, or may not connect & bring up our Home Page. If it does connect, I may be able to surf for a while, and then try to go to another website (or home page) and nothing happens. On the IE bar on the bottom it just says Web Site found..........waiting for reply.......... From this point it never connects again until I re-start my machine. Even with re-starting it sometimes doesn't connect. There is no pattern to it. I have the latest Windows updates (perhaps the problem??), the latest version of IE, Norton Internet Security 2006, etc. (which, by the way, shows I have no viruses, spyware, etc) I have tried everything I know and it's still doing the same thing. I thought it may be one of the Browser Add Ons, but have been disabling/enabling them for the past week now & nothing seems to make a difference. I am currently in the process of uninstalling the Windows Updates one at a time to see if one of them is the problem. This has been going on since approximately December 20th (We still had Norton Antivirus 2003- Didn't install Norton IS until late December). Up until then it was fine. Can anyone help? Same problem? PS - NOT my Cable/Internet connection (first thing I checked) - My email works great! |

I'm really not the one to answer your question, but you should say which version of Windows you are using, and if you have a firewall. |
