When I create or forward a message, the "from" box does not appear so I am
not able to change the email address I'm sending from. Since I share my computer with others at home, we need to be able to change to the appropriate "from" address especially when we are sending auto messages to an internet site. Help anyone? |

Tools > Accounts > Mail: If there's only one (1) account here, the FROM
field will not appear. For other family members to be able to Send or Forward from their email addresses using the same Identity (http://www.insideoe.com/files/store.htm#storemain) , their accounts will have to be entered here. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE/OE, Shell/User, Security), AH-VSOP grandma M wrote: > When I create or forward a message, the "from" box does not appear so I am > not able to change the email address I'm sending from. To get the option to select the From address, you must have 2 or more
mail accounts setup in the current Outlook Express identity (Tools, Accounts, Mail). If you each have unique e-mail addresses with unique server mail accounts, then it would be best that you each have your own identity with just your own account. That way you don't have to mess with selecting the from address or looking at other people's mail. But if you have multiple e-mail addresses feeding into a single server account, then things get messier. Then you need to set up the multiple accounts within the identity. Tools Accounts. Set up a new account for other users there. You'll need the incoming and outgoing settings, take them from your account if you are using the same connection. |
