How can I save replies in my sent messages directory?
I thought the sent directory contained all messages that you sent. Today I thought that I had sent something but, not seeing it in sent messages, I sent it again. Later I discovered that I had sent two replies. I did an experiment and discovered that my replies weren't saved in the sent directory. I did some searching only to find posts asking the question but no answers. Is Outlook any different? |

Its possible your sent items folder is corrupt. Move all the messages from
the sent items folder to another folder. Then close OE and find the sent items.dbx file (hidden) and delete it. Then reopen OE and it will create a new sent items folder. See if that fixes it. steve "Phil R" <b@bar.com> wrote in message news:Xns9715F2D45E777Rbarcom@207.46.248.16... > How can I save replies in my sent messages directory? > > I thought the sent directory contained all messages that you > sent. > > Today I thought that I had sent something but, not seeing it in > sent messages, I sent it again. Have you been in the options send tab and made sure there is a tick
besides "Save a copy of the message in the Sent Items folder. Just a thought Joan Phil R wrote: > How can I save replies in my sent messages directory? > > I thought the sent directory contained all messages that you > sent. > > Today I thought that I had sent something but, not seeing it in > sent messages, I sent it again. Select the Sent Items folder then View, Current View and make sure that
you are not hiding read messages. Select Tools, Options, Send and make sure that you have checked the option to save a copy in the Sent Items. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Phil R" <b@bar.com> wrote in message news:Xns9715F2D45E777Rbarcom@207.46.248.16... > How can I save replies in my sent messages directory? > > I thought the sent directory contained all messages that you > sent. > > Today I thought that I had sent something but, not seeing it in > sent messages, I sent it again. I didn't realize that the symbol the left indicated that. This sure is an easy mistake to make, but hard to discover. |
