Due to some problems from NAV, I had to re-install XP Home on my wife's
computer. This was a recent update installation from 98 SE. Normally I don't use updates, but there was no way I was going to spend weeks trying to restore all my wife's files which are stored in only a system that she understands. After I re-installed XP due to NAV, she has had problems typing in Rich Text (HTML) mode. For an example, when she types the first sentence it will be in the text that she has set, but when she hits "return" and goes to the next line, the text will change size, even though it is still the same text and size she selected, showing in the box. If she has to go back and delete a word or make a change of some sort. The words she highlights will again change size to a much larger size while it's highlighted. When she deletes it, it ends up erasing more than she meant to erase. Also, if what she is writing is a large message, over time the cursor will be several spaces beyond what she is typing. In IE we've had a strange thing happen also. She no longer had the "History" icon. When we went to View, Toolbar and Customize and tried to scroll down the icons to move to the toolbar, the icons that were already on the toolbar moved instead of the ones to be added. As it was, History was already in the list for the toolbar and when we closed that menu, it appeared where it had been previously on the toolbar. Any ideas as to what is going on and how to fix it? -- Thanks, Russ |

Hi Russell,
For the font size issue try using medium. These settings were already set that way. We're still having problems.

Hi Russ,
I think a reinstall might be best in this situation, but get the Windows updates if you haven't already. This could make a reinstall unnecessary. There is a Microsoft KB article that tells how to do a reinstall. Be sure to get all the necessary Windows updates to ensure success.
