Use a News Client and not teh web front end !

If you are referring to the newsgroup list where you subscribe to them, then
select one and use Ctrl & the + on the numeric keypad to extend them.
This also works in most other truncated text boxes.

Err, OE always shows the full newsgroup name except when it's cut off on the
right. If this happens, highlight a newsgroup and hold down the Ctrl key
while you press the + on the number pad. The window can also be enlarged.

We have asked for a way to shorten the names for years.

I just hover the mouse over the newsgroup that is too wide for the current
width of the tree pane and a popup (balloon) shows the full name. No
clicking or menus required.

Hi "Radio 1ne,

Use your mouse to move to the side the short vertical line which divides the
column headings, until you can view the full name of the NewsGroup.
