Default OE Error Message

Suddenly things have changed and sending emails I get:

"Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'pop3.ukonline.co.uk', Server: 'pop3.ukonline.co.uk',
Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F"
Grateful advice please. Brett

Turn off email scanning in your anti-virus. It provides no added
protection.

Kath,

VMT for you prompt advice. Have looked up the MS pages and will take time
to digest and action. I use McAfee (everything) and normally do not have
any problems. I've just invoked the McA Privacy Service, perhaps that is
guilty !
Regards
Brett

Another reason to turn off email scanning immediately!
McAfee email scanning has been known to delete the message store with no
recovery possible.
