No idea what's wrong. Have you tried using OE menu, Tools/Synchronize
newsgroup while in the newsgroup? Have you contacted the people who run the server?for more info about what synchronization is, you might want to read this earlier post by Tom Koch: <quote> The names really do mean exactly what they say. The confusion lies in what OE means by "new" and what most users mean by "new". To OE, a message is new if you have not downloaded it or its header. If you have downloaded the header of a message, it is no longer new. Now keep that very important point in mind, and let's see what we get. "All Messages" means that OE, when you perform a synch, will download ALL messages, meaning all headers and all message bodies. If you have some headers already downloaded without bodies, even if they are marked as read, they will be included in ALL messages. Use this setting only for those newsgroups where you really do want each and every message downloaded. The only messages/headers that will *not* be downloaded are those that were on the server but not yet downloaded when you used Catch-Up (see below) on that group. If you have never used Catch-Up on the group, then ALL really does mean ALL. "New Messages Only" means that OE will download every single "new" message body. If you have some headers that have not been read and whose bodies have not been downloaded, they will NOT be included when OE synchs because to OE they are no longer new. To include those in the synch, you will have to Mark for Offline each header for which you want the body to be downloaded. Otherwise they are just skipped. "All Headers" really does mean ALL headers, but no bodies. Problems can arise if you use Synch Options together with a download limit (Tools|Options|Read). Synch Options override any limit you may have set, and so you might end up downloading more than you expected. To use Synch Options well, you will almost certainly want to use the Catch-Up feature as well. Catch-Up marks as read all downloaded headers/messages AND all older headers/messages that are on the server but have not yet been downloaded. This is important if you have been using a download limit but now want to set synch options. For example, if a group has 32,000 messages, you have been downloading only 300 at a time, you have downloaded and read 10,000, leaving 22,000 unread messages on the server. If you now set Synch Options for that group to "All Messages", OE will dutifully download all 22,000 messages *with* bodies, as well as the bodies for any header you have downloaded. To avoid that, right-click on the group and Catch-Up to mark everything as read, both local and on the server. Then set the Synch Option. OE will now download All Messages except for those marked by Catch-Up. Any messages for which you have downloaded just the header *will* be downloaded, so in this case ALL means 'all bodies for every header in my local file as well as all messages in the future'. <end quote> -- Jim Pickering, MVP, Outlook Express https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/pr...8-1171988A62D6 Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped.
