Re: Why does Outlook Express open all attachments with Word?

Yes it is too much of a hassle if you have to do that will every email that
comes in - THANX FOR YOUR RESPONSE

You don't have to do it with every mail.

If you check the box to "always open this with this program" as suggested
below, then such will be remembered in the future for that given file type.

You should only have to do it once for each type of attachment (e.g., JPG,
DOC, PDF), Mrs. B. After that, all attachments with the same extension
should open in the application you've chosen.
