Default OE requesting password

Hi Folks

Sorry if this has been answered before but I cannot see it in a previous
post.

Using WinXP Home/OE6 and my virgin.net broadband email account is set to
remember password.

However, each time I open OE6 I am asked for my password. The tick box is
ticked and greyed out but I do have to insert my password or I cannot get
in.

How can I stop this from happening every time I want to check my emails.

Thanks, Rob

That usually means that the Windows Protected Storage Service is damaged, or at
least the entry in the registry for your account. Try setting it manually again
by clicking Tools, then click Accounts, double-click your mail account, click
the Servers tab, re-type your username and password and check the box to
"remember password".

If the problem continues, you should just create a new Identity (on the File
menu, point to Identities then click Add Identity) and import your existing
mail folders into that new Identity.
