Hi,
I often get emails with 10 or more Word attachments. I know there is a way to have them open automatically, but I'm not sure how. I know I have to have email set to HTML. Any ideas? Thanks |

You need to have Word installed on the computer or download a free Office
viewer to see them. There is no way to open the "automatically" instead you must click on each one at a time to open them in the viewer: Viewers for Office programs: http://www.microsoft.com/office/000/viewers.asp -- Jim Pickering, MVP, Outlook Express https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/pr...8-1171988A62D6 Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped. I am certain that in the past I have opened all of them at once.
Someone told me how and it worked. I just didn't write it down. Jim Pickering wrote: > You need to have Word installed on the computer or download a free Office > viewer to see them. Don't know who and don't know how. You might post it if you ever find it or

I just didn't write it down. I would never open an email attachment without first saving it to disc and scanning it with my AV software first, even if it was from my Mother!! If you save the attachments, you can open all of the saved files at once.

I haven't test this, but is should work. You must open the message in its own window as this will not work in the Preview pane. Click once on any of the attachments, press the A key will holding the CTRL key (to select all), then right-click on any of the selected attachments and click Open. -- Tom Koch, MVP for IE/Outlook Express http://www.insideoutlookexpress.com or http://www.insideoe.com Awareness is free. |

Try selecting them all and dragging them to a Word application window? To avoid the possibility of getting documents inserted in other already opened documents I would try dragging to the Title bar or somewhere which unambiguously implied you wanted the documents to open in their own windows. BTW I don't know if this works or not. It's just something that I would try. Good luck Robert Aldwinckle --- |
