Default What's the maximum limit on the number of emails that can be stored within inbox?

Hi

I have this recurring problem with my mailbox which crashes after a
certain limit.
Regarding the harddiskspace where my emails are stored, it is around
2GB+ . Also, the emails are moved every 15 days on regular basis from
the inbox to a different folder (say) inbox-oct15, inbox-oct30, etc.

I would like to know if there exists any program which supports storage
of more emails in the inbox. And also if there is a maiximum limit on
the no. of emails that can be stored within the inbox along with the
total file size of the inbox.dbx

100MB per .dbx file.

The actual maximum on any DBX file is 2 GB. Over that and they wont work at
all. The practical limit is around 100 MB or the folder gets too slow to
load.

Consider creating another identity for storage purposes. You don't have
to configure an account in it. Move all the (old) mail you want to save
to this ID - file>import and point to your old identity. Then your old
identity with a valid working account will be empty and ready to start
again. Use file>switch identity to access your old mail. This old mail
would then be less subject to any corruption as it will not be polling
for new messages at any time with full folders. (You can obviously
create any number of extra ID's for different years?) I currently have
two ID's. Hope this helps.

Do you compact after deleting or moving emails?
