When I send an e-mail with attachment, I receive the e-mail but without the
attachment. Has this something to do with outlook or with norton anti virus/spam that stops attachments. Who can help me? Andre |

Hi Andre,
Outlook Express can block access to attachments, but this does not strip an attachment from a message. I'm not aware of a feature in Norton Anti-Virus that would remove attachments unless a virus were found. You could test delivery of a message with an attachment without enabling message scan. The message scan feature (incoming and outgoing) can cause server connection problems. This feature can safely not be used. Use only normal system background scanning. Check your Norton configuration for any setting dealing with attachments. Another possibility is filtering by protection software provided by your ISP. -- Tim K. aka Kuay Tim MS-MVP - Outlook Express Lynnwood, WA * "andre van gemert" <gemert@xs4all.nl> wrote in message news:e4y9Sxd8FHA.956@TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl... Open OE. On menu bar, click on tools / options / security tab / uncheck
checkbox that says do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could be potentially be a virus. hth Carl "andre van gemert" <gemert@xs4all.nl> wrote in message news:e4y9Sxd8FHA.956@TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl... > When I send an e-mail with attachment, I receive the e-mail but without the > attachment. > Has this something to do with outlook or with norton anti virus/spam that > stops attachments. Are you sending a message from Outlook97/98/2000+ to Outlook Express?
If so, then see: the MS-TNEF WINMAIL.DAT Attachments section of Decoding Internet Attachments - A Tutorial http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_san...de.htm#ms-tnef Otherwise see the Problems and Complications section of Decoding Internet Attachments - A Tutorial http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_san...de.htm#problem -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "andre van gemert" <gemert@xs4all.nl> wrote in message news:e4y9Sxd8FHA.956@TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl... > When I send an e-mail with attachment, I receive the e-mail but > without the attachment. > Has this something to do with outlook or with norton anti virus/spam > that stops attachments. (Besides screwing things up) However, if you are sending images and using HTML, it may neglect to include the attachment if an option is unchecked: Go to Tools | Options | Send Make sure that the HTML settings have the option checked to Send Pictures with Messages. -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE Please respond in Newsgroup.
