Put new mainboard in box and then ran a Repair Install on XP Home. After
that I installed the current IT Service Pack downloaded from the MS site. OE no longer will allow me to view newsgroup images in the Preview Pane. I assumed it was the 'Virus' setting in the Security tab, but even after unticking that I still can't view images. In fact... if I click on the paper clip it opens Photo Editor. I do a lot in the rail photo and wallpaper groups and do not want to have to go through 3 and 4 steps to open images, not to mention waiting for PE to open and close and so forth every time. I see Tim's suggestion to another poster concerning running regsvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetcomm.dll and do not know if that also applies to me. If so... can someone be more detailed about that? There are a number of things I'm not thrilled with after this 'upgrade' that I can live with, but I need to have use of the Preview Pane. Suggestions? |

If so... can someone be more detailed about that? OE>tools>options>read tab>read all messages in plain text>disable. Or a safer way is select the message with a picture>Alt,V,H. Thanks. Didn't that only apply to mail before? I used to be able to have Text Only in mail and still have Preview for News. I would still like that arrangement if possible... Is it? Thanks again for replying. |

No it is a global setting, the option exists for posting though. That is why I gave you the second option, set read all again & use Alt,V,H when you need it? -- Regards Steve. MS-MVP. OE. [DTS] |
