I am running Windows ME, with Outlook Express/Internet Explorer 6 on a
Pent. II, 400 MHz machine, 30 Gig HD, 400 Meg RAM. Lately, when I boot up, and click on Outlook it opens up and gets my mail. Same for Explorer. But, after the machine has been on for a while, or I have rechecked my mail several times, all of a sudden, I get an error message when I try to get mail or go on the internet. (using verizon DSL). The message says "Outlook Express", "The server responded with an error, Account"incoming verizon.net,Pop 3, server response ERRAVG Pop3 Proxy server! Port 110 Secure (SSL) No, server error 0x800CCC90, error number 0x800CCC90" I tried to do a "Restore" but, all of a sudden, that's not working. I tried to Remove/Repair Explorer, but, that doesn't even show up on the ADD/Remove Software list anymore. I re-installed ME over the old installation, (didn't want to reformat) and that didn't do any good. Any one have any ideas? |

Keep AVG updated and you will be as safe without it scanning your mail in or outgoing. -- Regards Steve. MS-MVP. OE. [DTS] |
