Default "Invisible" Address Book (OE/IE6/Win XP Pro)

When I click on the Address Book there's nothing in it.
If I go to "Find" to look up something which used to be there, it still is!
I've tried to import a saved copy of the Address Book, and answered YES to
overwriting all the entries - and still no Address Book can be seen.
Can somebody please help me get it back?

Regards,
Per Odegaard.

Entries in an address book may be keyed to a specific identity. To see all
contacts in the address book, try clicking the Start/Run line and type:
WAB /A
and hit the Enter key. For more info about the Address Book, see this link:

Jim,
You're a star!
I followed the instructions in the below link, and suddenly the address book
was back.
It must've been the running of WAB /A from Start that did it.
Anyway, I'm happy.

Could you please clear up another mystery?
In earlier versions of OE and IE I lost the address book when the number of
entries reached 999 (or 1000).
Could this still cause problems in OE6?
At the moment I have as many as 821 email addresses in there, but I have now
deactivated the automatic addition of people I reply to - just to be on the
safe side.

Cheerio,
Per Odegaard.

Glad to hear it's fixed. As per the number of Contacts, the only problem
you may have is if you have the Contacts displayed on the left side of the
screen. If so, when you exceed 999, the Contact Pane will appear empty,
although they are still in your Address Book. And having the option checked
to add people you reply to is not needed and can cause your Address Book to
fill with people you'll always wonder who they may be.

Good luck and thanks for the feedback.

Asked/Answered in OE General. If you must make identical posts to multiple
newsgroups, please cross-post one (1) message to all of them.

Please do NOT hijack someone else's thread, Laura.
