This is causing us havoc. Normally when you receive an Email outlook displays
it as an unread message. The other day Outlook started attaching the Email to other Emails received earlier, not neccessarily from the same person. This doesn't happen with all Emails, just some of them. There is no rhyme or reason for this as some of Emails are totally unrelated to the Email they are attaching themselves too. |

Create a new Identity.

This isn't a size issue there's ample room there. It doesn't happen with all
Emails its almost random. Creating a new identity is not an option for me due to circumstances. Outlook, or Outlook Express?
Make sure: View | Current View - Show All Messages. View | Sort By - Received. What do you consider ample size? You should never keep messages in default folders, and the ones you create should be kept no larger than 100MB. Why can't you create a new identity and test it? Anyone can. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Byron" <Byron@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:14FED00F-ED80-465E-9829-A1A22AED1636@microsoft.com... > This isn't a size issue there's ample room there. The reason I knew it wasn't full is because all EMails are wiped clean every so often and spam is deleted instantly and although 100mb is allocated it never exceeds 25mb anyway. Anyways! the girls at the office that use that PC are offering to have your Baby they are so pleased the problem is sorted ![]() |

I have OE settings change myself. I believe it's the work of aliens. Tell the girls thanks, but one kid is enough for me. <VBG> -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ |

Give the girls this: General OE Caveats: - Don't use Inbox or Sent Items to archive messages. Move them to local folders created for this purpose. - Empty Deleted Items folder daily. - Disable Background Compacting [N/A in WinXP SP2 and Win2K03] and frequently perform a manual compact of all OE folders while "working offline". More at http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm. - Do not attempt to close OE via Task Manager or shutdown your machine if Automatic Compacting is taking place (WinXP SP2 & Win2K03 only). - Your anti-virus application's email scanning feature can also cause corruption. Disable it. It provides no additional protection. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE/OE, Security, Shell/User) |
