Just installed a new PC at work with XP Pro with all updates applied. Saved
Outlook Express data from old PC with 98 SE with all updates applied. Imported saved Outlook Express data into new PC, everything is operational. Problem is that the Outlook Express from the 98 SE PC highlighted the unread emails and when emails were read unhighlighted them. I am not able to find a way to set this up in the new PC with XP Pro. Is there a way to set this up in XP Pro, Outlook Express? -- Rparker |

See if this is the culprit.
This can happen if your desktop icon font is set to bold. Go to: Control Panel>Display>Appearance>Advanced. In the Item box, scroll down to Icon and click the *B* once to return the fonts to normal. Also, the font size should be set to 8. (Mine are Tahoma - 8). OK and Apply. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "OkieRon" <OkieRon@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:E071C35C-CBE4-4B65-B23E-8291052D2CB7@microsoft.com... > Just installed a new PC at work with XP Pro with all updates applied. > Saved > Outlook Express data from old PC with 98 SE with all updates applied. > Imported saved Outlook Express data into new PC, everything is > operational. > Problem is that the Outlook Express from the 98 SE PC highlighted the > unread > emails and when emails were read unhighlighted them.
