Hi:
For some reason I no longer can send e-mail's to any of my Hotmail or MSN addressee's. I am getting the following error: The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was 'xxxxxxxxx@msn.com'. Subject ' Airshow Pics- Good Bye Tomcat', Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'SMTP.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 permit denied', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79. I use Comcast and this problem is happening only on my Sony desktop. I have a Toshiba laptop and can send e-mail's to either Hotmail or MSN with no problem. Thanks |

This is a well-known issue. Hotmail, MSN and Yahoo routinely block e-mail
from Comcast and other ISPs as a spam reduction measure, which is somewhat humorous when you consider that Hotmail, MSN and Yahoo are themselves the origin of massive amounts of spam. There isn't anything you can do about it...Hotmail and MSN are employing desperate measures to stem the flow of spam. Correspond with Hotmail and MSN addresses from another email account. (That is, not a Comcast account.) -- Ted Zieglar "You can do it if you try." "ColTom2" <nomailaddress@none.com> wrote in message news:%23oiVH1c9FHA.4036@TK2MSFTNGP11.phx.gbl... Ted, You wrong to say that "Hotmail, MSN and Yahoo are themselves the origin of massive amounts of spam." When you check the IP address of senders you will find that these have nothing to do with either of the names you have suggested. I receive lots of Spam messages and the IP addresses are that of, you guessed it, COMCAST. Comcast is actively pursuiing new usiness and so it is prepared to take any mass mailer as their customer. My mail server is configured to block all traffic from COMCAST servers. hth Ted Zieglar wrote: > > This is a well-known issue. Hi:
I no longer can send any emails to Hotmail or MSN addressee's on either computer. In addition, I tried to use Comcast's email, rather than Outlook Express 6 and can't get through either. Getting error 550 permit denied. I called Comcast tech support and they indicated that the Sober virus was the basis of the problem and that they were working with Hotmail and MSN to resolve the issue. I appreciate your postings on this matter. "ColTom2" <nomailaddress@none.com> wrote in message news:%23oiVH1c9FHA.4036@TK2MSFTNGP11.phx.gbl...
