Default downloding messages

I have just signed for yohoo plus, and now my OE is downloading all my 576
messages from the server. i have checked the leave a copy of mail on server.
I want to know how to download only unread messages from my box or only new
messages. I am worried that each time i try to download the messages i will
download all 570 messages including new ones(since the leave copy is
checked).Please advice,
Thanks

Check to delete after X days, or when you reach your max space allowed,
e-mails sent to you will be returned to the sender. This will also only
download messages for the number of days you chose.

OE can't tell which messages have or have not been read on the Yahoo web
site.

Assuming that you want to leave the messages on the web site
indefinitely, you need to let OE download all the existing ones. In the
future it will only download ones that OE (on that PC) has not
previously downloaded.

However, the more messages you keep on the server, the longer it will
take OE to download new messages. Each message has a Unique ID (UID)
generated by the server. OE will ask for a list of UIDs (UIDL) for all
messages currently on the server. OE keeps track of ones that it has
previously downloaded. It will then skip over those and ask the server
to download the messages that are new to OE. On a high speed line, this
may not be a problem. But on a dial-up, the delay each time OE checks
mail may become an annoyance.

For a workaround, create one ore more user defined folders in Yahoo web
mail and move the messages from the Inbox to these folders. OE can only
download messages from the Inbox and optionally BULK folder (the Bulk
folder download selection is specified on the Yahoo web mail settings.)
