I have also been having this problem on my 2 computers with Micrsoft OUtlook
-- both run XP, but while one is Office 2000, the other is Office 2003. The
problem is intermittant, but seems to happen more often than not. I have
been working with my ISP, but have gotten nowhere. I have also tried the
reloading of the pop info. in my accounts, but this also have not seemed to
work.I have done a search on Microsoft site for the error message #
(0x000ccc92) and have found the fix that is applicable for Exchange 2000, but
not for AP. I suspect that the problem may be the same, but that Microsoft
has not learned about it or fixed it yet. Thoughts of others?

Outlook and Outlook Express are different programs.

I understand that -- but I think the problem is with the OS (just as the one
MS admitted to and fixed, in 2000), not the apps.

The error number, which is incorrect, results in: 0x800CCC92 POP3 INVALID
PASSWORD - Password not valid for account.

That said, asking in the MS Outlook newsgroup, and posting the entire error
message will get you more help.

The OP's error was not the same as yours. It was: Secure(SSL): No, Server
Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92. Not just 0x800CCC92.
