I have set up one of the mail rules as a spam filter and added all the usual
words but I can't find any help on these questions... How does the word filter list work? For example, if I put "stock" in the word list, does it also filter "stocks"? And would it also filter "comstock" or "stockyard"? I notice about 1 out of 100-200 "real" emails get thrown in with the spam. What I would like to do is..... automatically send an email to each email that this rule picks up as spam, but (and this is a big butt) send that email from a different email address (like yahoo, etc) so that I don't keep feeding the spammers. My reply would tell them that their email was detected as spam by my filter and to send it again with different words in the subject line or contact me by phone. If it was an accidental spam label, they would have my phone number and would not give it out in the email reply. Thanks!! Fred |

A) Stock *will* pick up on any word containing that arrangement of letters.
B) Do not reply to Spammers. They probably won't get it because their address is most likely munged, but if they did, all you would be doing is verify that your address is legitimate. I'm not sure if you can do that or not. Let's see what someone else has to
say. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Fred" <testing@testing1212mouse.com> wrote in message news:8n1kf.233$wF.72@trnddc08... > Thanks Bruce. > > I understand about replying to spammers, but do you know if am I able to > send an auto-reply using a yahoo address using OE6 instead? > > "Bruce Hagen" <Nospam@mymail.invalid> wrote in message > news:u4ZjOW39FHA.3884@TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl... >> A) Stock *will* pick up on any word containing that arrangement of > letters. >> >> B) Do not reply to Spammers.
