Default Retrieveing OE messages after a clean install on a new hard drive

Ok, I recently installed a new hard drive and made it my master. I did a
clean install of XP on the new drive.

Now I want to import my messages, identity, etc from OE6 on my old hard
drive (now my D: drive). How do I do this? I've tried usint the Tool > Import
> Messages and importing from the root of d:\documents and

settings\<user>\application data\identities\<user string>

The problem is that there is no Microsoft or Outlook Express after <user
string>

Thanks!

I should add, I did a search for *.dbx on my old drive and did not find any.
There are also none on my new C: drive.

Tools>Options>Maintenance>Store folder will reveal the location
of your Outlook Express files. Press the Tab key to highlight the folder
location, then Ctrl+C. Close OE, then Start>Run>Ctrl+V will put the location
in the box - Click OK and you'll see the OE files. Otherwise, write the
location down and navigate to it in Windows Explorer.

In WindowsXP, 2K & 3K, the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default
marked as hidden. To view these files in Explorer, you must enable
Show Hidden Files and Folders under Start>Control Panel>Folder
Options>View.

Odd. Last night it wouldn't find the *.dbx files even thoughtI have it set to
view hidden files. Today it finds them. One wierd thing: I can't go Start >
Control Panel > Folder Options - Folder Options does not exist in the control
panel. The only way I can get to it is by going Tool > Folder Options in an
open folder.

Ok, so I've imported messages from my main id. How do I import my other
inboxes (from hotmail accounts) and their messages?

You don't need to import them. Just open your Hotmail folders or poll the
account(s). All your messages reside on the server.

Are you completely updated? XPSP2? There is an icon for Folder Options and
also Tools | Folder Options in the Control Panel.

I see Robear helped with the Hotmail issue.
