Have you checked the sound preview in Control Panel | Sounds and Audio
Devices | Sounds, to make sure one is selected for New Mail Notification and is working there? OE must also be open to hear the sound. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "leo" <leo@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:68AD4AA4-B4A0-431D-BA5E-8B321210528D@microsoft.com... > I have the settings set to notify me of any new messages with a sound > and > my sound card is working properly but when I receive new messages i dont > hear > the sound. You may have a damaged identity. File | Identity | Add New Identity. Create
a new one and test it. If all is well, you can import your messages from the old identity and delete it. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "leo" <leo@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:1B7B19CC-0819-45A2-8896-892469BFA473@microsoft.com... > Yes all this has been checked and verified and OE is open but still no > sound. > > "Bruce Hagen" wrote: > >> Have you checked the sound preview in Control Panel | Sounds and Audio >> Devices | Sounds, to make sure one is selected for New Mail Notification >> and >> is working there?
