I have created the new WAB file, and can copy individual contacts in the
main contact list from the current WAB file to the new one OK, but have not
succeeded in copying group-only contacts from the current file to the
clipboard and then pasting the clipboard info to the new WAB file. When
click on the group and follow the specified procedure, nothing happens. Same
if I double click on the group to show each entry, select all entries with
mouse & CTRL, then hit CTRL+C in the current WAB and then CTRL+V in the new
WAB.

Maybe relatedly, I can't get the clipboard to clear with the ESC key.
Contacts copied into the clipboard stay there (as tested by copying into a
Word file.)

Try running the Address Book from the Start/Run line by typing: WAB /a
and then do the copy/paste routine to your newly created WAB file.

Or while at the Start/Run line and opening the book, just copy all the
contacts involved into the Shared Contacts folder so that they will export
w/o problem.

Jim: Still didn't work.
-- Results same regardless of whether I started my main Address Book from
within OE or from the Start/Run line.
-- Within my Main Address Book, when I tried to copy all the contacts from
the Don's Contacts folder (which includes the groups and group-only contacts)
to Shared Contacts, all contacts copied OK EXCEPT the groups and group-only
contacts, which didn't copy.

What am I missing? Further suggestions? Thanks,

Did you include a space between WAB and the slash, when inserting it into
the Start/Run line, i.e., [ WAB (space) /a ]? If not, try it again with
a space and see if you can then copy from the Groups involved to the shared
contacts folder.

Or, is this a copy of some other person's address book from another
computer? Is Office (and Outlook) also installed on this computer? If so,
are you sharing Contacts with that program?

Open the Address Book.
In the left column click on the Group.
In the right field click on a contact.
Press Ctrl-A to Select All.
Press Ctrl-C to Copy All.
Open the blank Address Book.
Click in the Contact Pane in the new Address Book.
Press Ctrl-V to Paste All.
