Why would OE filters suddenly stop working ?
I have a slew of filters based on sender (spammer) names... they were working fine for months and just last night. This morning they have stopped filtering. I went in and checked to see that they were still enabled, applied the specific rule multiple times to the Inbox - no go. |

I reckon it's the undocumented Monday morning chip (present on all
motherboards) that's causing the problem! Have you got the right time and date on your system clock? Regards. Even more odd - upon further checking... they appear to have filtered 80% of the SPAM with the same exact message and names. |

The Registry key has probably become corrupt. Go to Start | Run and type regedit and navigate to this key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{GUID}\Software\Micro soft\Outlook Express\5.0\Rules Right click it and select Delete. (Make sure that you only selected Rules.) Then you will have to rebuild your list. -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE Please respond in Newsgroup only. Spammers are notorious for changing the sender names, since they are
usually fake to begin with. Have you look at the message source (Ctrl-F3) for some of the spam to make sure that the FROM: header still has the text that you are using in the message rule? Did you make any changes in any of your rules? It's possible that some other rule that you have added/changed is affecting the logic.
