Default Unknown Error

Running WindowsXP - SP2 with a LAN connection to the Web via my DSL line. I
do not have a dial up connection set up.

About every other day the first time I run OE6 and visit any Newsgroup, I
get an "Unknown Error Has Occurred" message. Clicking Details reveals the
following:

Configuration:
Protocol: NNTP
Port: 0
Secure(SSL): 0
Code: 80004005

This usually happens just after surfing the Web with Firefox 1.5 but not all
the time. OE6 reads my mail fine but when I go to News it fails. Closing
and reopening OE6 clears up the problem.

I have Googled the problem and found KB article 224535.

Tools/Account/News/Properties/Connection shows just two entries, Local Area
Network and Widomaker DSL. No dial up connection so Method 2 didn't seem
appropriate. Always Connect Using is set to the LAN. I set it to the DSL
connection but the problem occurred again this morning.

Can anyone help me solve this problem?

Thank you very much.

1. Uncheck "Always connect to this account using:".

2. On the Advanced tab for the account make sure that the port is set to
119.

Thank you Frank. So far so good. We will see what happens in the next day
or so.
