Hi afbosch,
Some details of what you are doing are lacking. It is difficult to suggest a course of action, but here is something to try. Create a new Local Folder in Outlook Express. The name for the folder could be Test. Move or drag one message into the folder. This will enable its recognition by OE in the message store. Close Outlook Express Rename the Folders.dbx file in the backup folder to Folders.old. Move a copy of the Folders.dbx from the message store to the backup folder. Rename a DBX folder file you are trying to import from the backup folder to Test.dbx. Try importing (from the backup folder) this one folder into OE -- NOT all folders. Look in the OE Test folder for the imported messages. This exercise should allow you to determine if the files can be imported successfully. Open the Store Folder Instead of using search the store folder can be opened directly. Each identity has its own store folder. a.. In Outlook Express click on Tools, Options, Maintenance tab...Store Folder. b.. Place the cursor at the left of the text of the path to the folder. c.. Drag the cursor to the right until the text scrolls to the end. d.. Right-click on the text and choose Copy. e.. In the Start, Run box right-click Paste. Click OK to open the store folder. f.. Close Outlook Express before working with the message store files. Using Keyboard Shortcuts for Transfer of the Folder Path Courtesy of: Jim Pickering, MVP-Outlook Express An even easier method when opening that page is to use the Tab to highlight the folder location, then Ctrl+C and close OE, then use Start/Run and Ctrl+V. Same caveat about hidden files applies but can be easily modified in Explorer by using Tools/Folder Options. -- Tim K. aka Kuay Tim MS-MVP - Outlook Express Lynnwood, WA * "afbosch" <afbosch@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:OGEaYtn$FHA.1408@TK2MSFTNGP15.phx.gbl... im have a very hard time with time, and i never use to, it all was work for me, but for this time all the .dbx file are there, the inporting wizard work, outlook express even tell be congratulation, you data from microsoft outlook express 6 was successfully inported into outlook but it was not noting happen this time for me like i stated file are there, but it seem ther do not what to im back to where ther belong i try a prgram called WOE5Extract,,, i can get in to a a few folder but not all i have totla imported a older set of my save folder back to outlook express no problem ther but not my new one, but yet i got 54 files an dover 74.3 MB there, but a lot of good it does me if i can not import them |

Hi afbosch,
One clarification. After creating the new OE test folder and dragging or moving a message to it close OE and then restart OE. Then close OE and move a copy of Folders.dbx from the message store to the backup folder (after renaming the original Folders.dbx file in the backup folder. The new Folders.dbx file will have information on the OE Test folder. -- Tim K. aka Kuay Tim MS-MVP - Outlook Express Lynnwood, WA * "Kuay Tim" <TimJohn@msn.com> wrote in message news:OCVowHo$FHA.4080@TK2MSFTNGP14.phx.gbl... DBXtract will extract the messages as individual EML files in the folder you
specify. When it completes, suggest you create a new, emtpy folder in Outlook Express (File/New/Folder) then open the folder with the EML messages, highlight them all (Ctrl+A will select All) then drag/drop them into the new folder you created in Outlook Express. Do not drag/drop them into the Inbox. DBXtract may take quite awhile to extract all the message, particulary if the DBX file involved is more than 50 or so MB. Be patient as it has been known to take several days of running to get them all. -- Jim Pickering, MVP, Outlook Express https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/pr...8-1171988A62D6 Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped.
