Default certain keystrokes

When I type certain letters, for example "m" in Outlook Express the
whole program closes.
Is this a virus?
If not, how can I fix?

It doesn't sound like a virus, but I wouldn't rule it out. Do you have
access to another keyboard just to eliminate it as a possibility?

Windows XP? Look in Control Panel | Administration Tools | Events
Look in both System and Applications for any error with msimn.exe involved.

Plain terxt or HTML mesage?
Any particular font on an HTML message?
Any theme being used for Windows?
Any other info you can provide that someone might recognize it and be able
to help.

Closes or minimizes? Look in your Taskbar to see if there is still
a task icon for OE there. If so, my guess would be that one of your
Win- keys is stuck. FYI Win-M has the effect of minimizing all windows.
In that case try pressing the opposite Win- key to release the one which
is stuck. Press Win-Shift-M to reverse the effect of the command.
