Hello Everyone, I use Windows XP home, with OE6, & IE6. I have restored my Computer to an earlier date and all Microsoft NG's are gone. I had this one on file. Is there a more practical way to display a full NG's Names, on the Newsgroup Subscriptions "Window" Before I subscribe? For example I want to Subscribe to the Newsgroup: (microsoft.public.windows...???........updates) I had this one before from this Server. All goes well till I type "updates" a line pops up saying there is no such a thing. Google at least asks "Did You Mean.........???" When I am close of describing of what I am looking for, but not exact of what It should be. Thank You Very Much, for Your help and Suggestions. ☺x@y☺ |

Reset the newsgroup list -
Tools|Newsgroups - highlight the MS server, and click 'Reset List' - it'll download the complete list of groups again, and you can then simply enter 'update' in the search box. The window can also be resized, but that doesn't stick. OR Single click a newsgroup whose name is partially hidden and hold down the Control key while pressing the '+' on the number pad. This trick works in lots of list windows. -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE Please respond in Newsgroup only. OE came as a default on that setting, and I do not subscribe to NG's every day, I subscribe to 6 NG's max, and stay with them. Thank You very much for Your help and the Best of this Holiday Season. ☺x@y☺ |

Hello Noel, I have tried Your advice step by step as instructed, after typing 'update' in the search box nothing happens so I have clicked OK at the bottom of the same window and everything disappears. I have used Frank advice in this thread and it worked well, now I can see the NG's name extensions. Thank You very much for Your reply, and advice.
