I use OE6 with my IMAP mail account. Is there anything out there that
will download the IMAP structure with contents into OE so that I have a local non IMAP copy? I need a way to backup my IMAP. Does OE have something for this? Thanks, Brett |

Don't understand what you mean by backup your IMAP. There is no need for it
since your messages reside on the IMAP server until such time as you "purge" them. -- Jim Pickering, MVP, Outlook Express https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/pr...8-1171988A62D6 Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped. You can create any folders that you like under the "Local Folders"
structure in OE. Then you can COPY any messages that you desire from the OE IMAP folders to the local folders. Note that if you MOVE or simply drag the messages, that deletes them from the IMAP folders and also the IMAP mail server. You can also backup the corresponding DBX files. I'm trying to avoid deleting anything off of the IMAP server.

Right but that takes them off of the server, which I don't want to do.
I'll figure something out. I get the idea it won't be very easy. Brett |

You can accomplish the same thing by right-clicking on a message or a group of selected messages, then click Copy to folder. There is no way to copy automatically from IMAP to local folders. -- Tom Koch, MVP for IE/Outlook Express http://tomserdam.com http://insideoe.com http://iusevista.com Awareness is free. |

Any time I try dragging a folder with the ctrl key down, I get the
circle with a diagonal line through it. I get it even if I don't hold the control key down. It doesn't look like what you described is an option. Brett |
