Does anyone else get this strange behaviour?
One of our users reported this 'problem' on his XP system (SP2, fully patched with all current updates. OE6 version 6.00.2900.2180.) - Open an email with an Excel file attachment. - When the wrning popup appears (assuming this is enabled) and you are asked 'Do you want to open this file?', ignore it and click back on the email window behind. - The popup window starts flashing rapidly and you hear what appear to be random tapping and buzzing sounds. This continues for a variable length of time and then the system returns to normal. No error messages or after effects, just this weird behaviour. It happens on all the XP machines we have tested here but I can't find any reference to it on the web. This is obviously not an urgent issue as the actions performed are unnecessary and easily avoided, but I am interested to see if anyone else gets the same effect. |

I tried that. I had to restart Windows to get things working properly
again. Obviously it's a programming bug. What's supposed to happen if you click back to the main window is you get an alert beep and the open dialog gets control back. Instead it's going into a loop of beep return control to the dialog, then back to the main window and start all over again. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Neil B" <neilb@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:97FB5146-FE08-4DCF-9501-D0ABB3FD45C5@microsoft.com... > Does anyone else get this strange behaviour? > > One of our users reported this 'problem' on his XP system (SP2, fully > patched with all current updates. Thanks for confirming that! Nice to know that it isn't just our systems here.
Sorry it crashed your PC though. Hope it's better now. "Michael Santovec" wrote: > I tried that. I had to restart Windows to get things working properly > again. > > Obviously it's a programming bug.
