Once e mails are backed up on CD, is it possible to reference / retrieve an
individual e- mail? (By the way, Merry Christmas to all!) |

How did you back them up?
If you backup the DBX file, you'll need to restore the DBX file in order to access the messages. How to import a single mail folder (*.dbx) http://www.insideoe.com/faqs/how.htm#importdbx For an alternate description, see the last paragraph here: http://www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx Or you could use one of the following utilities to extract the messages to EML files DBXtract - http://www.oehelp.com/DBXtract/Default.aspx DbxConv - DBX to MBOX/EML converter by Ulrich Krebs http://people.freenet.de/ukrebs/dbxconv.html Outlook Express Extraction http://macallan.club.fr/index.htm If you need to regularly access messages backed up on CD, the better way would be to convert the DBX files to EML first and then save the EML files to CD. The EML files can be read directly from the CD. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Happy" <happy@trial.ca> wrote in message news:Op1W8kYCGHA.272@TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl... > Once e mails are backed up on CD, is it possible to reference / > retrieve an individual e- mail? > (By the way, Merry Christmas to all!) > > |

I am about halfway through the solutions, and 'helps', and am most impressed. Thanks again. |
