I get this message whenever I try to go to Tools/Internet Options.
The title bar has "Restrictions" in it and the message is "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator." I'm stuck because I am the system administrator. I noticed this after I had switched to Bellsouth DSL and canceled and went back to my cable modem and wanted to change the home page back to Google. Since I canceled my Bellsouth account, they are not interested in helping me (not that I think that they really could anyway.) I was able to change my homepage by changing it in the registry, but there are other things I need to change. Can anyone help me remove the restrictions that I never intended to put on? Thanks, Ken |

Have you tried booting to Safe Mode?

If you have used SpyBot's Immunize tool, see this:

It is a local policy (that you can change while logged in under an admin-level account) or it could be a domain policy that gets pushed to your host. Although the policies set registry values, it is probably easier to wade through the policy editor than dig around in the registry.
