Hi,
I have 1000 email addresses in my contact list. Can I put all of them in one group? Is there a limit to the number of email addresses you can have in any one message? Somewhere I heard if there were more than 42 email recipients the email tended not to arrive. Thank you very much for any help. PTUNA |

How many you can send is up to your ISP, not OE. Contact them to see what
they allow. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "PTUNA" <PTUNA@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:6845131F-E573-415A-8A64-E97D75D75C50@microsoft.com... > Hi, > > I have 1000 email addresses in my contact list. You should NEVER send one email to 1000 people.
If you want to send 1000 emails, then send them individually. Now, that would be something. Make everyone pay for each email they send.
That would cut down on spam and other nonsense messages. Majik and I would go bankrupt. <G> steve "PA Bear" <PABearMVP@gmail.com> wrote in message news:%23x6K6eJDGHA.2300@TK2MSFTNGP15.phx.gbl... > And best do so before the price of a first class stamp increases to 39¢ on > 8 Jan-05! > > Steve Cochran wrote: >> You should NEVER send one email to 1000 people. >> >> If you want to send 1000 emails, then send them individually. > |

Not per email.
If you had to pay per email, as one does with snail mail, then it would significantly reduce the crap out there. steve "Alias" <aka@[notme]maskedandanonymous.org> wrote in message news:%233WUauTDGHA.3920@tk2msftngp13.phx.gbl... > Steve Cochran wrote: > >> Now, that would be something. Careful: You may be being too Americentric. Many if not most dial-up
customers around the world /do/ pay per KB usage. -- ~PA Bear Steve Cochran wrote: > Not per email. > > If you had to pay per email, as one does with snail mail, then it would > significantly reduce the crap out there. > > > We do pay to send email. Connecting to the Internet isn't free. |

I'm not talking per KB. I'm talking like a postage stamp for each email
message (you could grade it via KB size <EG>) you send. steve "PA Bear" <PABearMVP@gmail.com> wrote in message news:ulJPV$WDGHA.740@TK2MSFTNGP12.phx.gbl... > Careful: You may be being too Americentric. Agreed, provided there was no analog to deliveries being made with "postage due". <eg> > I'm not talking per KB. I'm talking like a postage stamp for each email > message (you could grade it via KB size <EG>) you send. More importantly it puts the costs on the sender instead of the receiver. That's why there's so much spam--it doesn't cost the sender anything to send one. At least with junk mail they have to consider to costs of printing and distributing before starting an advertising campaign. Robert --- |
