New mail?

OE displays an envelope in the system tray signaling I have new mail.
I have three IMAP accounts setup in OE. When I click the envelope, it
goes to the top IMAP account's inbox. However, there isn't any new
mail. There isn't any new mail in any of of the accounts.

Any suggestions as to what is going on?

1. If you have a message rule that has the actions "Delete It" and "Mark it Read", there may be a "received" message in the Deleted Items folder, that triggered the "new mail" alert.

2. Also if you have third party spam filtering programs that automatically delete, and mark as read, spam messages. The new mail notification will still activate. So check the Deleted Items folder when this happens in the future.

I'm not using any third party spam programs. This is IMAP, which I
don't think OE lets you place rules against. Either way, I'm not using
rules.
