Please check that error message number. That number isn't valid. Post back
the complete error message

Is your email account set to use secure password authentication? Better yet,
is it supposed to be?

0x800CCC1A = Unable to connect using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).

Look at Tools, Accounts, Mail, Properties, Advanced. Uncheck the SSL
option. Few mail servers support that.

If you continue to have problems, check with your ISP for the correct
settings. Their web site likely has details and may include
step-by-step instructions for configuring your mail account in OE.
